AmeriCorps is a Asian Human Services’ long-term, federally-supported AmeriCorps Project that hires AmeriCorps members to serve in programs throughout the agency. Currently eleven members are stationed at five programs in the agency and have many responsibilities: teaching English classes, running an after-school program, doing community outreach, assisting job-seekers as they look for work, and helping patients get medical services. For more information about AHS’ AmeriCorps Program, please contact Anita Caref, Program Manager, at acaref@ahschicago.org (If you are interested in becoming an AmeriCorps member at AHS, please go to www.americorps.gov to submit an application.)
