Why were you interested in joining our AmeriCorps program at AHS? I was interested in joining AmeriCorps program at AHS because I wanted to help around my community instead of anywhere far. I saw it was a great opportunity to give back to my community through joining AHS.
What motivates you as an ELL Assistant? Something that motivates me as an ELL Assistant is the feeling I get from helping others and teaching them something new, I love helping others.
If you could describe your AmeriCorps experience so far in one word or phrase, what would it be? Amazing & eye-opening.
What do you hope to give to the students you serve? Something I hope to give the students I serve is help them strengthen on the subject they are struggling and boost their confidence.
What impact do the students you serve have on you? The students always make me wonder and learn about new things everyday.
What are you most proud of so far in your service year? Something I am most proud of in my service is seeing the students I am assisting are making progress and making the honor roll.
Where would you most like to travel to? I would like to travel to my country, Eritrea.
What is your favorite holiday and why? My favorite holiday is any holiday that brings all of my family together. I like to see the whole family in one place during holidays.
If you could create any work of art, what would it be about? Portrait of all of family.
