Why were you interested in returning as a 3rd year AmeriCorps member? My students and the relationships I have with them and the staff at school.
What motivates you as an ELL Assistant? Every fun and hilarious memory I have with them or opportunity to make more.
What’s your favorite thing about living in Chicago? The inclusivity no matter what area you visit.
If you could describe your AmeriCorps experience so far in one word or phrase, what would it be? Never a dull moment.
What impact do you hope to make in your service? To know what it’s like to have a consistent adult in their life.
What impact do the children you serve have on you? They remind me to not take everything so seriously and fight for what you deserve.
What’s an AmeriCorps memory you’ll hold onto? When the other AmeriCorps members around the agency got to do a fun activity with some of my students and how much fun they all had together.
What are you most proud of over the last few years of service? All the progress that my students have made either academically or behaviorally.
Where do you see yourself post-AmeriCorps? Grad school or full-time position working with children.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Any chicken dish — fried chicken, chicken parmesan, stuffed chicken marsala.
If you could go back in time, what year or period would you travel to and why? The 90s/2000s because I wish I was older experiencing that time period.
